Update from Airasa

Hello all,

It's been a while since I've written one of these, but I thought it was about time. The whole family went to visit this summer and had a lovely visit with my dad. Ian and I had our final wedding celebration at Goleta Prebyterian Church and it was a fantastic event. My dad had a great time and so many people made such an effort to be there and helped make it a special day. It was the perfect venue, so thank you to GPC for letting us have it there!

My dad looks really well in his apartment and is very hopeful about his future. Despite ongoing problems with finding reliable morning caregivers, he is very philosphical about his situation and deals calmly with the problems as and when they arrive. Of course, he couldn't do it alone, so thanks to everyone giving him support one way or another!

While we were there he decided to let go of his PO Box since it would be difficult for him to check it regularly, he now only collects mail at his apartment:

Of course he still loves getting mail and he can answer his own phone now : 805-683-6492.
He's usually busy in the mornings getting up and ready for the day, calling after 1pm is a good time.

So, it was lovely to meet and see so many of you whom I've only known as an email address, and old friends whom I haven't seen for a long time. We really did have a wonderful day and it's been so satisfying, after all this time, to see my dad in his own apartment, being captain of his own ship!
