Happy Holidays and a Big Thank You to All!

Hello and Happy Holidays to all of the folks on Graham's Family and Friends Mailing List!!

I will give a very brief update on Graham's situation. He has been living in his apartment nearly 5 months now! That is really an achievement I think.

Although he has had some continuing niggles with his caregiver situation, those who have been helping him have been great in doing what has been needed. We think Graham will need a little pool of caregivers so when I am there in February that will be one of my goals. Aura, his live-in caregiver, is a real gem. She has filled in a few times when others were unable to be there and she is always kind, considerate, helpful and faithful in her work with him. He has one week day and one week end caregiver, who are truly caring and accommodating, but both of them are wanting to move on when possible so we are looking for new caregivers for those times.

Many friends have also continued to help out by visiting regularly and giving assistance with various things. We are very grateful to those who have continued to bless Graham with their help. Special mention goes to Cari, Marj and Lee Ann who visit weekly and help in various capacities. Graham has continued to attend church weekly, which I know gives him strength to carry on when life gets complicated.

Graham has also begun his abstract work for Clio. The last I heard, he had completed 6 abstracts and was about to start doing abstracts from a journal that is about Space, which he had saved for last. Most of you probably know of his continuing love for all things to do with outer space... The abstract work gives Graham a sense of worth, something that is very important when so much of his life is about being cared for by others. We are all proud of the way he has moved forward. When he has finished with his assignments, the amazing Department of Rehabilitation and their wonderful Susan Mathers will be able to close his case. Their gargantuan efforts on Graham's behalf have really made this work possible. Thank you so much to them.

Over this holiday period things are a bit tricky as caregivers naturally want to be with their families as well. There are some of you locals who are giving time on Christmas Eve to help Graham and for that we are most grateful. I hope that others of you may find time to visit Graham during the holidays and in the New Year.

I am looking forward to spending most of February in Goleta -- arriving 3rd and leaving 26th. I know I will see an incredible improvement in Graham's abilities to do things for himself. We can all be proud of how hard he has been working to live his life to the fullest. I hope to see many of you locals while I am there.

As we come up to the 2nd anniversary of his accident, we are all very thankful to you friends and family for your support and kindness. We wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season. May 2007 bring all of us our fondest dreams.

Love and peace, health, wealth and happiness to you all

Linda and Airasa
